What a 2018 Maruti Swift can be
Know the 2018 car
- Recall (2018): Airbag controller unit IC could be damaged in manufacture; moisture may cause malfunction and airbag non-deployment (warning light on). Ask whether it was done; the dealer can check by chassis number.
What to check before you buy
- Manual: note where the clutch bites (a high bite means a worn clutch) and check every gear, reverse included, goes in cleanly without grinding.
- AMT: a short pause on each shift is normal. A long hesitation, a jerky pull-away or trouble selecting a gear points to clutch or actuator wear.
- Whatever you pick, it can be inspected before you pay, 300+ checkpoints, a diagnostic scan and a written report per car.
