What a 2015 Honda Amaze can be
Know the 2015 car
- Recall (2014): Possible mis-assembled brake proportioning valve on petrol manual non-ABS cars; count combined with Brio. Ask whether it was done; the dealer can check by chassis number.
- Recall (2014): Incorrect baffle plates in driver airbag inflator could cause abnormal inflator pressure on deployment (petrol and diesel). Ask whether it was done; the dealer can check by chassis number.
What to check before you buy
- Manual: note where the clutch bites (a high bite means a worn clutch) and check every gear, reverse included, goes in cleanly without grinding.
- Torque-converter automatic: shifts should be smooth, with no flare in revs between gears and no delay engaging Drive or Reverse. Ask when the gearbox oil was last changed.
- CVT: listen for a whine as speed rises and feel for a surge or slip under acceleration. Ask when the CVT fluid was last changed; these gearboxes depend on it.
- Whatever you pick, it can be inspected before you pay, 300+ checkpoints, a diagnostic scan and a written report per car.
