What that mileage & age mean
- It's belt-driven, due around 100,000 km. The typical car (54,173 km) still has room, but ask for the belt's change history, skipping it is the costliest mistake on this model.
- By this mileage the transmission fluid, spark plugs and brake fluid should already have been replaced. Ask for the bills, not just a verbal yes.
- At around 12 years old, the rubber and electrics matter as much as the engine, perished hoses and bushes, a tired AC compressor, and rust in the sills, wheel arches and boot floor.
Where to look hardest on a Tata Nano
