- At about 9 years old, rubber and electrics matter as much as the engine: hoses, bushes, the AC compressor, and rust in the sills and boot floor.
- Dual-clutch (DCT): creep in traffic and pull away on a slope on the test drive. A judder or shudder at low speed, or a gearbox warning light, points to clutch-pack wear. Ask whether any clutch or mechatronics work was done under warranty.
