What to check on this one at 77,215 km
- Timing chain, not a belt, so no scheduled change. A rattle for a second on a cold start points to a stretched chain: listen for it.
- At 77,215 km the schedule has already called for: brake fluid. Ask to see the bills.
- At about 9 years old, rubber and electrics matter as much as the engine: hoses, bushes, the AC compressor, and rust in the sills and boot floor.
