How an inspection works

Tell us the car, the place and the time

On WhatsApp or at inspektai.in/booking. A seller’s address, a dealership yard or your own doorstep all work. We confirm the slot and the price.

A certified inspector checks 300+ points

Body and paint thickness, tyres, brakes, underbody, interior, electricals, engine bay, an OBD computer scan and a road test where the seller allows it. You are welcome to stand alongside.

AI cross-checks everything

Manual findings are checked against the scan data, the car’s service history and government records: registration, insurance, PUC, challans, loans on the RC, odometer consistency.

Your report lands on your phone

A verdict, a score out of 100, photos with markings, a repair estimate and negotiation tips. Usually within minutes of the inspector finishing.

What is InspektAI?

InspektAI is a full health check for a car. A trained inspector checks 300+ points, from tyres, battery, lights and paint to the engine bay, documents and an OBD computer scan. Our AI then turns all of that into one clear digital report with photos, readings and a verdict, so you can decide with confidence before you buy or sell.

In one line: InspektAI is your car’s health report, powered by AI and verified by expert inspectors.

How does the inspection work?
  1. Our inspector notes the car’s details and documents.
  2. They do the full physical check, a road test where permitted, and the OBD scanner check.
  3. Photos and readings go into the InspektAI app as they work.
  4. The AI cross-checks the manual findings against the scan data, service records and government records.
  5. Your report lands on WhatsApp or email, usually within minutes of the inspection finishing.
How long does it take?

About 90 minutes for one car, including scanning, photos and checks. Bigger or more complicated cars can take up to two hours. You can go about your day; the report reaches your phone.

What will I get in the report?
  • A clear verdict: buy, buy at a corrected price, or think twice, plus a score out of 100.
  • Condition of every system: exterior, interior, tyres, brakes, battery, engine, AC, underbody, lighting.
  • Red flags: repaint, accident repair, odometer inconsistencies, fault codes, open loans on the RC.
  • Photos with markings.
  • A repair estimate and negotiation tips, so you know exactly what to ask for.
  • Government record check: registration, insurance, PUC, challans, ownership count.

Scroll down to see real pages from a real report.

Is it safe to plug a scanner into my car’s OBD port?

Yes, completely. Our OBD device only reads data from the car. It does not change, program or interfere with anything in the car’s systems. It is the same port your service centre uses to read error codes.

Can I be present during the inspection?

Yes, please do. Stand with the inspector, watch the process and ask questions. At the end they give you a quick verbal summary, and the full report follows digitally.

Do you buy or sell cars, or earn from the deal?

No. InspektAI is 100% independent. We do not sell, finance or insure the cars we inspect, so we have no reason to soften a finding or push a sale. We tell you the truth and hand you the report that wins the negotiation. If the car is genuinely clean, the report says so, and that is a win too.

Which cities are you in?

Inspections are live across Bengaluru right now, at the seller’s address, a dealership, or your doorstep. If you are in another city, send us your city name on WhatsApp and we will tell you when we launch there.

Can I use it for a brand-new car?

Absolutely. New cars pick up scratches, dents and transit damage between the factory and the showroom, and paperwork sometimes goes missing on delivery day. We inspect at the dealership before you take delivery, while every mark we find is still the dealer’s problem to fix. Three of the stories below are new cars.

What if the car is old or has no OBD port?

Cars built before 2010 or without a standard OBD-II port get a fuller manual diagnostic instead. The inspector notes it in the report and compensates with more detailed physical checks.

Which vehicles do you inspect?

Petrol and diesel cars of every brand and segment, used or new. Hybrid diagnostics and EV battery-health checks are on the way. For anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.

Will the report help me negotiate?

That is the point of it. Every finding is priced, and the negotiation-tips section tells you what each one is worth. You walk in knowing exactly what to ask for, and the report does the arguing as a neutral third party.

Who inspects my car?

Inspectors trained and certified by Moto365 Akademie, carrying an OBD-II scanner, tyre tread gauge, paint thickness gauge, multimeter and the InspektAI app. Every inspection is time-stamped, geo-tagged and linked to the inspector’s ID.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All inspection data is encrypted, time-stamped and stored securely. The report is shared only with you. Owner details in reports are masked.

How do I receive the report?

As a digital report on WhatsApp or email, usually within minutes of the inspection finishing. You can also open it any time from your Moto365 dashboard.

I already have a report from somewhere else. Can you read it?

Yes. Upload the PDF on inspektai.in and InspektAI will tell you what it says and what it leaves out.

Can you help me find a car, not just inspect one?

Yes. InspektAI Assist is our buyer-side car-finding service. Tell us the car you want; we search the whole market, check every shortlisted car’s paperwork, physically inspect the ones you approve and tell you which to buy and what it is worth. Start at assist.inspektai.in.

Inside a real report

What a finished report actually says

Report #PDI011045: a 2024 Hyundai i20, one owner, inspected in Bengaluru in September 2026. Forty pages, 12 scored areas, 268 recorded checkpoints from a checklist of more than 300. Below are six of those pages, in the order a buyer asks the questions.

87.4

As close to a new car as a used one gets. Two years old, 8,014 km, one owner, and not a single panel has been touched. The verdict is written for this car, not stamped on it.

How our report stands

What a used-car inspection usually gives you, and what ours does

Most pre-purchase inspections end with a ticked checklist. The questions a buyer actually has to answer next, what it costs, what it is worth, what to say to the seller, are left to the buyer. These are the differences that change the price you pay.

A typical inspection
An InspektAI report
The checklist
A round number on the cover. 200 points, 150 points. Never itemised.
A checklist of more than 300, and your report prints the exact count recorded on your car. This one: 268.
The findings
Pass or fail ticks against part names.
Plain English, with what it means and why it matters on this car.
The costs
One lump estimate, or nothing at all.
Every item priced low to high, with the basis for the number beside it.
Negotiation
Left to you to work out.
Each finding converted into what it is reasonably worth off the asking price.
What it is worth
Not covered.
Every comparable listing in your city, owner and trade marked, with a recommended price.
The gaps
Silent. You cannot tell what was skipped.
A page that names what could not be checked, and why.
Whose side
Often arranged by the seller, the dealer or the platform taking a cut.
Buyer-side only. We do not buy, sell, finance or insure the car.
Bad news
Softened, so the deal survives.
Said plainly, including telling you when the seller is right and you have no room.
